Annual Cookie Drive

Dec, 2020, dates TBD. A time-honored tradition of providing all of those living in the dorms with a taste of home. Each December, the LSC partners with local schools, organizations and individual donors to provide platters of holiday cookies to Langley Airmen in the dormitories. Our hardworking first sergeants help us to make sure their Airmen in the dorms know they are not forgotten, even when they may be far from home during he holiday season. In December 2019, we were able to provide cookies to ALL single and unaccompanied Airmen working on Langley Air Force Base!

Operation Warm Heart

At Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, the base first sergeants council  built more than 400 Thanksgiving baskets, and collected money and food  donations. According to Master Sgt. Liesbeth Bowen, 633rd Air Base Wing  wing staff first sergeant, there have been a higher demand for families  in need of assistance.

Air Force Village

As long-term nursing and memory care costs soar, many widowed spouses  are unable to afford the level of care they require.  As they deal with  issues of aging in their 80s and 90s, they often lose financial  stability through no fault of their own.  Health issues and unexpected  longevity overwhelm their resources and that’s where we step in.

United through reading

For deployed military families, the mission of United Through Reading is  crucial. The ability to maintain a sense of family unity while they are  separated is paramount to their succeeding and thriving. UTR builds  resiliency and strength in military families.

Dogs on deployment

Military members nation-wide confront a multitude of problems during  their careers, the last thing they need to worry about is their pet's  care during their service commitments. Dogs On Deployment is a 501(c)(3)  national non-profit which provides an online network for service  members to search for volunteers who are willing to board their pets  during their owner's service commitments. Dogs on Deployment promotes  responsible, life-long pet ownership by military pet owners by  advocating for military pet owner rights, providing educational  resources and granting financial assistance for military pet owners  during times of emergency. Join Dogs on Deployment's mission in changing  the lives of our military members and their pets.

Enlisted Village

The Air Force Enlisted Village (AFEV) is a nonprofit organization whose  core mission is to provide a safe, secure home for surviving spouses of  retired enlisted U.S. Airmen. Located along the beautiful Emerald Coast of northwest Florida in Shalimar near Eglin Air Force Base and Hurlburt Field, apartments are available at Bob Hope Village, our independent living community, and at Hawthorn House, our assisted living and memory care residence located on the Bob Hope Village campus.
